CUPE is at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women this week, standing with the @canadianlabour as part of a global delegation of union women led by @psiglobalunion . Together, we’re pushing for gender justice on the international stage. CUPE’s Regional Vice-President for Ontario Yolanda McClean and Human Rights Director Kimalee Phillip are among the union leaders fighting for a future where gender equity includes everyone — women, Two-Spirit, trans, and non-binary people alike. 30 years ago, the landmark Beijing Declaration set out a blueprint to tackle gender discrimination and advance the rights of girls and women. At this #UNCSW session, we’re evaluating what we've accomplished — and making plans to tackle what’s left to do. That means fighting for affordable, accessible child care with good working conditions for child care workers, defending reproductive freedom, advocating for migrant women’s rights, and ensuring strong public services that support and empower our communities. ~ Cette semaine, le SCFP est à la Commission de la condition de la femme des Nations Unies aux côtés du Congrès du travail du Canada, faisant partie d'une délégation mondiale de syndicalistes menée par Public Services International. Ensemble, on défend la justice de genre sur la scène internationale. La vice-présidente régionale du SCFP pour l’Ontario, Yolanda McClean, et notre directrice des droits de la personne, Kimalee Phillip, font partie des leaders syndicales qui luttent pour un avenir où l'équité inclut tout le monde : femmes, personnes bispirituelles, trans et non binaires.
